Teachers across the valley each year ask parents for additional much needed items to help in the classroom each New Year.  The goal is for every student to come to class prepared and have the tools they need to excel in the classroom. Zuri’s Circle Adopt a Classroom Program is to assist with the empowerment of youth in the classroom by assisting the teacher with things that will help them look forward to succeeding in school. 

 

Each year we will pick a teacher to support for a full year, visiting the classroom once a month and provide them with school supplies, backpacks, lunch party, books, arts and crafts along with other fun things. During our visits we will also talk to the students about being powerful. Our “Be Powerful” Campaign is a way to discuss the importance of their power in the classroom, at home and in their community.

 

Each student will be giving a letter to take home to their parents, letting them know about our campaign and how the student will be involved and what we will discuss. Each student that is able to participate will receive a Be Powerful T-shirt.  Our efforts for this complete program is to empower the teacher and the student to “Be Powerful” and supportive to each other’s growth for positive change in the future.
